I graduated from the teaching as an art course a year and a half ago and went straight into being responsible for the music teaching in a large Steiner school. Whilst I am not currently taking a class, the course has prepared me in so many ways to embark on a new life in Waldorf teaching. The combination of Martin and Angela working together with the different but equally valuable qualities they bring was for me one of the best features of the course. Together they have a wealth of experience and provided a well-rounded Education to those of us on the course – just what we aim to bring for the children in our care. Their teaching course will take you on a real journey of discovery, laughter, talents you didn’t know you had, thoughts you didn’t know you had and in my experience, I am now colleagues with some of the other students from my course. For many of you wanting to take this step into Waldorf teaching, this course will leave you enriched and fill your tool kit for teaching. Enjoy! Kate Smith, Music teacher |

For five years, I was a primary school teacher in East London. My Head teacher was open to my interest in Steiner education - she even funded my Steiner training course in exchange for a further four year commitment to the school. As I then taught full time, the course created a manageable option and provided much inspiration for my teaching. I was able to incorporate many of the Steiner ideas and practices into my own day to day teaching to the great benefit of my class. I even gave an INSET for my primary school colleagues on Waldorf Education, which was very warmly received. I eventually left state education and have been teaching at a Steiner school now for almost two years and think it is one of the best decisions I have made. The curriculum is rich, nourishing and focused on acute observations of child development. I will always be grateful to Angela Querido and Martin Hardiman for their time, dedication and skill in delivering a fantastic course and inspiring me to being the best teacher I can be. Martin and Angela's teaching is the most valuable tool to become a Steiner teacher. They have a wonderful wealth of knowledge and experience that they share with others with open minds, warm hearts and humour. This course includes a great balance of information, study, practical and artistic activities. Martin's and Angela's enthusiasm is contagious!!! Lucy Infray, Class Teacher

I am an upper school teacher of Maths and Physics and a Class 9 guardian at Canterbury Steiner School. I taught in the state secondary schools in London and a couple of towns in Sussex for the best part of ten years, prior to completing the class teacher training course run by Martin and Angela. The course was like no other I have ever been on; it was in total contrast to the folder stuffing PGCE I completed at the beginning of my career, instead it was packed full of enriching experiences. As a parent with young children I was grateful for the insights it offered and I felt much more certain and committed to our decision to send our children to a Steiner school. As a teacher I felt empowered by this holistic approach that starts with incredible insights into what children need at the different stages of their development, insights that resonate as truth with your own experiences and an educational approach built around fulfilling them. As for Martin and Angela the terrible aspect about them as your teachers, guides and entertainers is that when you graduate you stop seeing them each month. And, the same is true of all the wonderful people on your course. If you are willing to enter this course with an open mind and heart, then you are in for a feast. You are likely to leave with a sense of being at the foothills of all that can be achieved through education, but inspired, well equipped and with passages forward opening before you. The course was exciting, enlivening and thought provoking - I learnt new skills, built on existing strengths and confronted some weaknesses too. Martin and Angela were warm and supportive and unfailingly good humoured – I loved my course weekends and valued the friendships that were made on our shared journey. I have worked full time in a Steiner school since then and continue to build from the foundations that the course gave me. I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in human development and Waldorf education. Kate Robertson, School Administration Martin and Angela are a perfect team. Experienced, inspiring, deeply knowledgable and always humorous. They convey the essentials of Steiner education in a stimulating, undogmatic way. To me, they were not only teachers but embodiments of what good teaching is. Alex Gifford, Drama Teacher and Director |

I found the two years on the part-time teacher training course in Bristol (2005-2007) up-lifting, soul-nourishing, thought provoking and most of all restoring my faith in wanting to be a teacher. Martin and Angela and all the visiting teachers were wonderful, warm and wise people to meet and to learn from. Singing together was the highlight for me and I sing a lot with my current class at the Bristol Steiner School too. Not only a unique chance for self-development, the course gives a true, practical insight into Steiner Waldorf schooling and the philosophy behind it. Soili Hyyrynen, Class Teacher

Teaching as an Art took me on a journey; gave me the confidence to start a Class 1 after many years of self-doubt. My class -teacher's journey with Angela and Martin followed the profundities of child development and demanding 8 -year curriculum; but also the endeavour and joy of song, art, craft - and the wonder of festivals celebrated together. I also learned much from the contributions of my fellow students whose gifts added depths to my understanding. I continue to date to benefit from their skills and enthusiasm for teaching. This Course was the perfect stepping stone into my current role as class teacher at Michael Hall. It provided me with a rich, well rounded and above all inspirational training in the artistic, anthroposophical and pedagogical foundations to teaching. I had two wonderful - and very busy - years, which I shall always look back on with gratitude and appreciation.

I enjoyed the course in many different ways. In fact so far this has been the best course I have done since I have been to school myself. It covered all the different areas of teaching and I still refer back to it now as I am teaching every day. Often I think back to moments of great learning and revelations I had during the course or we had together as a group. Apart from being trained as a teacher, the experience of being part of a group which is exploring this journey together is extremely valuable. I am still in contact with many people form the course. We used to spend the evenings together exchanging our news from the past month and everyone grew to know and care for each other. I would recommend this course to anyone who is looking for continuous learning, growth and development. Even people who might not want to teach after all will get a lot just from the experience. I feel this two-year part time course equipped me very well. Angela and Martin were an inspiring, enthusiastic and highly gifted team; their warmth and good humour ( a brilliant double act!) saw us through all the highs and struggles of the course. The experienced visiting lecturers were all so generous with their encouragement and knowledge. There was a well-thought out, balanced programme each weekend, and the annual week-long courses were a real high-light. It's great to know this excellent course has started a new lease of life in Stroud. Pat Thompson, Handwork Teacher |
